Meridian — architecture studio portfolio
Editorial portfolio site for an award-winning architecture studio with 14 years of completed projects.
- Editorial strategy + content audit
- Photography re-shoot direction
- Next.js + MDX build
- Motion system
- Briefing form redesign
What they needed to solve.
Meridian had 14 years of work hidden behind a Squarespace template. Project photography was downsized to thumbnails. Press features were buried three clicks deep. Founder enquiries had stalled at 4 per quarter.
How we approached it.
An editorial Next.js + MDX site that treats every project as a long-form case study. Full-bleed photography, sequential project navigation, and a quiet but considered motion system. Inbound enquiry form replaced with a project-brief flow that asks better questions.
Design decisions.
- AaGT Sectra Display — headlines
- AaGT Sectra Text — body
- AaSöhne Mono — meta
Full-bleed editorial spreads with calibrated whitespace. No motion under 200ms. Every project is its own micro-site.
- Slow-scroll photography reveals
- Sequential project navigation (previous / next as bound book)
- Print-style typographic ligatures
What changed.
Squarespace template, thumbnail photography, generic contact form, no SEO surface, no editorial pacing.
Editorial Next.js portfolio, full-bleed photography, briefing-first form, indexed case studies.
