Atelier Form — considered homeware
Hydrogen-powered Shopify storefront for a direct-to-consumer homeware brand obsessed with craft.
- UX audit + analytics review
- Information architecture
- UI design + photography direction
- Hydrogen front-end build
- Stripe + Shopify backend wiring
What they needed to solve.
The existing Shopify theme converted at 0.8%. Checkout abandonment was 74%. The brand story had no room to breathe and product photography was buried under aggressive promo modals.
How we approached it.
A bespoke Shopify Hydrogen storefront with a custom product-discovery flow, editorial-style collection pages, and a checkout redesigned around trust signals. Promo modals removed entirely — every page does its own selling.
Design decisions.
- AaGT Sectra — editorial headlines
- AaSöhne — product UI
- AaSöhne Mono — pricing + SKU
Editorial 8-col layouts on collection pages, 12-col on UI surfaces, generous whitespace, no upsell modals.
- Editorial collection pages with embedded craft stories
- Hydrogen-powered for sub-1.5s LCP
- Checkout redesigned with progressive trust signals
What changed.
Off-the-shelf Shopify theme, 4 active promo modals, hidden product photography, generic checkout.
Hydrogen storefront with editorial collection pages, photography-led PDP, redesigned checkout flow.
